Now I know, on a cold, winters night most of us come inside and crave a nice mug of hot chocolate and marshmallows. I have to admit this is a favorite of mine as well. Although, there is a close second that we love around our house, especially around the holidays. Have you ever made homemade wassail? There is nothing quite like a warm cup of this spiced apple drink while sitting by a fire reading a good book, or playing a game with your kids. It is spiced just right and has the sweet and sour taste we all love about wassail. This is my Mom’s recipe and we have been making it for as long as I can remember. I couldn’t believe I had yet to blog about it so I hurried and snapped a photo before the crock pot of this goodness disappeared. Sorry for the poor lighting, but it didn’t last long enough to take another picture. Hope this wassail warms your heart and soul this weekend, like it did ours 😉
