CHERRY SYRUP:
1stick butter
1cupapricot nectar or evaporated milk
3/4cupsugar
1cupfresh cherriespit removed and cut in half
Instructions
Waffles: In a large bowl, whisk together the waffle ingredients, wet items first and then dry. Add more or less milk until the batter is the right consistency of waffle batter. Whisk until smooth and then fold in the fresh cherries that have been cut in half and pits removed. Heat a waffle iron and spray with non-stick cooking spray. Pour a 1/4-1/2 cup of the batter into the waffle iron and bake until golden brown. While the waffles are cooking, make the cherry syrup.Syrup: In a sauce pan, add the butter, nectar, sugar and fresh cherries. Bring the syrup to a low boil and boil until the sugar is dissolved and smooth and silky. Serve the syrup over the cooked waffles.
