1stick buttercan use Thrive Butter that has been hydrated
1/2cupbrown sugar
1/2cupapple cider or Martinelli's sparkling cider
1/4cupevaporated milkor more as needed
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Spray a 9x13 baking dish with cooking spray.
Place the cubed bread into the dish.
Top the bread with the Thrive Life apples.
In a bowl, whisk together the water, powdered milk, powdered eggs, cinnamon, vanilla, salt and brown sugar.
Pour this mixture over the dried bread and apples.
Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 35-45 minutes or until the center seems firm and no longer soft.
While the casserole is baking, in a medium sized sauce pan add the butter, brown sugar, apple cider and evaporated milk. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let the syrup cook until the sugar dissolves and the syrup is smooth. Thrive butter will work but you have to cook it on a much lower temperature. Real butter does work better in this recipe but you can use freeze dried in a pinch.
Serve syrup over baked casserole.
