In a sauce pan add the water and bring to medium heat. Boil the water and then add the regular oats. Stir constantly. Add the freeze dried (or fresh) apple pieces to the oatmeal and stir until tender and the oatmeal begins to thicken. Add the cinnamon, salt, vanilla and coconut sugar. Turn heat to low and keep warm until ready to serve. Serve oatmeal with almond milk and additional coconut sugar.
