Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a mixing bowl and with an electric beater, mix together the butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and beat. Add the salt, vanilla, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda and flour and mix until combined. Add the chocolate chips and combined.
Scoop heaping tablespoon full of dough on to a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper about 3 inches apart and bake for 8-10 minutes. Don't over bake cookies. Remove cookies from the hot pan and let rest. Cool for a few minutes and then serve.
Dough works great refrigerated overnight if you need to make the day ahead.
