A couple weeks ago I had a youth group over at my house to teach them how to make pies. We had such a fun time! These girls did amazing and made the cutest, small pies you have ever seen. If you need a fun, simple activity idea, we had a blast. I went to our local Smith’s grocery store and they had disposable small pie tins. They make the most darling little pies you’ve ever seen. Several of the girls requested coconut cream pies. Coconut cream pie is not any different to make than banana cream pie I posted about yesterday. All you need to do is replace the whipping cream (or half and half) with canned coconut milk. You can also add a cup of shredded coconut to the pudding for a little more coconut flavor and some texture. It is a fail proof recipe that makes any of your favorite cream pies. Here’s a link to my favorite Homemade Pie Crust recipe. It’s simple. It’s flakey. It’s perfection!
