Carnitas Beef Steak Marinade

At nearly every Mexican restaurant I go to I always order Carnitas Steak Tacos. There is something about the salty meat that has been marinated all day that is plain awesome! I searched everywhere online, combined several recipes and found this combination had just the flavor I was looking for. If you don’t want to slice the steak up in a taco, it is great to eat plain as well! This would be a great marinade for your upcoming 4th of July barbecues. Enjoy 🙂

Instructions

  • Rub 2/3 of the dry rub on to both sides of each steak. Place the steak into a ziploc bag or a tupperware. Pour on top of the steaks the pineapple juice, lime juice, soy sauce and garlic cloves. Let the steak marinate for several hours. When ready to grill the steak, remove the steak from the marinade and then rub the remaining 1/3 of the rub onto the tops of each steak. Grill to your desired done-ness and then remove from the grill. Let the steak rest for a few minutes and then slice into thin strips. Serve the steak in a flour or corn tortilla and top with avocados, and pico de gallo.
