Salted Caramel Frosting is the most delicious frosting you can add to your favorite cupcake, cake, muffins or cookies. The frosting is a little salty, smooth and has great caramel flavor. I made up a batch of our banana bread recipe and put them in little mini muffin tins.
This frosting was the perfect combination with the banana muffins. I made extra of the frosting to serve on a birthday cake too which was delicious. No matter what dessert recipe you choose to add this frosting too, it’s the perfect combination of sweet and salty and will satisfy all of your sweet tooth cravings.
Ingredients
- 1 stick butter
- 3/4 cup caramel ice cream topping
- 1/2 tsp. coarse salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1-2 Tbs. heavy whipping cream

Instructions
- Add the butter into a mixing bowl and with an electric mixer whip the butter until smooth. Add the caramel ice cream topping, salt, vanilla and heavy whipping cream. Add the powdered sugar a little at a time until it's combined and the frosting is light and fluffy. If you need the frosting a little softer add a little more whipping cream. Whip until fluffy.
