Sticky Orange Pull Apart Bread {aka Pan de Muertos}

By December 22, 2014No Comments

My daughter is in a Spanish class that is right up my alley. Every couple weeks they have to experiment by making a new Hispanic dish as part of their homework. We have had so much fun trying new recipes and playing around in the kitchen (could homework get any better than that?). Well, this past week we made a recipe that we all loved! It is a holiday bread that they commonly eat around the holidays and my family loved it to. The bread is infused with lots of orange flavor and then it is glazed with a sugary, orange syrup that becomes sticky and hardens like a crust on the outside of the bread. As you pull apart the bread you get this super delicious orange glaze all over every bite. We had this with hot chocolate for dessert and it was such a fun bread. I could see this made as a dessert or breakfast bread this week. Hope you enjoy this recipe. Feliz Navidad 😉
