I am so excited to share this recipe with you. Now, just as a disclaimer, I am not Indian. I’m not trying to pretend like I know how to make ‘authentic’ Indian food. However, I had fun with this recipe turning it into a family friendly meal that can be cooked in your own kitchen with ingredients most of us already have on hand. So, if you are looking for a traditional Tandoori Chicken recipe, this one may not be the one for you 😉 However..it is fabulous no matter what type of Indian food you like. The only two ingredients you might not already have on hand are turmeric and garam marsala. If you are new to these spices, you can find them at any of your local grocery stores and they have such an unusual and aromatic flavor and smell, you will quickly learn to love them!
This chicken is so flavorful and the yogurt dipping sauce is a creamy, bright way to finish off the dish. Garnish with fresh mint and you will love all of the new flavors you can introduce to your family. I had my daughter’s teenage friends over and I was so glad this meal passed their taste test too. I will be sharing the recipe for this simple Naan Bread and Cous Cous later this week as well, to round off this Americanized-Indian dish. You will love it!! Enjoy 😉
