Apple Cinnamon French Toast Bake is a delicious and easy breakfast recipe you can make the night before and have ready in the morning. You can simply bake this casserole in the morning and have ready in a jiffy. Serve with butter syrup, maple syrup or whipping cream. You can use fresh apples, fresh eggs and fresh milk or use all of these ingredients from your food storage. Ingredients
- 4 cups white bread cubed
- 1 1/2 cup Thrive Life Apples
- 2 1/2 cups water
- 2/3 cup Thrive Life Powdered Milk
- 2/3 cup Thrive Life Egg Powder
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- Dash salt
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- Apple Cider Butter Syrup:
- 1 stick butter can use Thrive Butter that has been hydrated
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup apple cider or Martinelli's sparkling cider
- 1/4 cup evaporated milk or more as needed
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Spray a 9x13 baking dish with cooking spray.
- Place the cubed bread into the dish.
- Top the bread with the Thrive Life apples.
- In a bowl, whisk together the water, powdered milk, powdered eggs, cinnamon, vanilla, salt and brown sugar.
- Pour this mixture over the dried bread and apples.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 35-45 minutes or until the center seems firm and no longer soft.
- While the casserole is baking, in a medium sized sauce pan add the butter, brown sugar, apple cider and evaporated milk. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let the syrup cook until the sugar dissolves and the syrup is smooth. Thrive butter will work but you have to cook it on a much lower temperature. Real butter does work better in this recipe but you can use freeze dried in a pinch.
- Serve syrup over baked casserole.
